The last few weeks we’ve been pretty busy with one thing and another. We had the privilege of witnessing two weddings, speaking at four churches and even playing football!
A couple of weeks ago we were at John and Natalie’s wedding in Wiltshire. John has been Mark’s friend since they were about 5, so it was great to be at their wedding despite the rain!
Then last week we were at the wedding of Andrew (who shared a house with Mark in Tanzania) and Louise in Northern Ireland. It was our first time to go to Northern Ireland so that was exciting! We didn’t see a huge amount of the country in the 24 hours we were there, but I think we saw enough to tempt us back again before too long…!
At work Laura has now pretty much finished sending out members’ annual reports which is exciting! Now she can concentrate on her role as PA to the Executive Director. This also means that she is able to only work 3 days a week now, which is a lot more relaxing for her and allows her to get more done around the house and to help out with other things on the centre.
Mark is still enjoying his job, although he will probably be quite busy over the next few weeks with several courses and events to help organise and teach. We may even get time for a short holiday too which would be nice!
A new group of volunteers from Europe and beyond have just arrived on the centre which has been fun. It even meant that Mark got to play football for the first time in ages last week – at last there are other people around who like football! Now we just need a few more to arrive when the courses for new members start next month…
Yesterday we were very excited to have a family from Tanzania here in the UK on their way to Texas on furlough. It was great to see them again, if only for a few jet-lagged hours! And it made us miss Tanzania… again…!
We’ll leave you with a few pictures from the weddings…
