Two weeks ago we moved into another small flat here on the Wycliffe Centre – just around the corner from where we were before. We were happy with our previous flat, but some friends of ours needed a slightly bigger place, so it seemed to work well for us to let them move in.
Having moved we’re actually really happy with our new flat, even though it’s quite a bit smaller. It’s not quite so central to the centre (if that’s not an oxymoron or something), so is a bit quieter, and we have a beautiful view to the woods from the back of the flat. At the moment we still have stuff all over the floor (the 5 small kitchen cupboards were the only storage space in the flat when we moved in!) but we’re hoping that we’ll have some shelves before Christmas…
And now Laura is getting really excited (ok I am too…) because it’s nearly Christmas! We got a Christmas tree on Saturday, which was a first for us as we haven’t spent Christmas on our own before. So now it’s standing in the corner of our living room wondering why we have brought it inside away from it’s squirrel friends, with Laura hanging various shiny things on it as I speak (or write as the case may be).
We’re looking forward to our first Christmas together in England, which we’ll be mainly spending with Mark’s family in Wiltshire which should be fun! We’ll make sure we take plenty of photos though so that family across the pond can see all our funny English traditions!
